ROOF PASTE

KOFATERM ROOF PASTE is a thermal reflective paste for use on roofs. The main purpose of this coating is to reflect over 90% of the electromagnetic wave energy coming from the sun and related to heating the roof surface. The temperature of the roof surface is lowered by just a few degrees above the air temperature which significantly reduces the amount of thermal energy that enters the partition and eventually penetrates the interior of the building. The amount of thermal energy collected and stored in the partition (roof) during a sunny day is also reduced, and therefore excess heat that would have been transferred to the interior, even in the evening when it is already cool outside, is reduced. Lowering thermal energy entering the interior of the building translates into measurable electricity savings needed for cooling the rooms with air conditioning, both during the day and at night.
Additionally, its thickness increases the thermal resistance of the roof and improves acoustic damping. It is very flexible and seals existing roof coverings thus creating a membrane for water. It eliminates thermal bridges which prevent condensation of water vapor and prevents the formation of mold, fungi, and algae. KOFATERM ROOF PASTE reduces energy consumption by up to 40% not only in summer but also protects conventional thermal insulation materials from degradation, which translates to proper thermal resistance and efficiency thus providing significant savings even in winter.

KOFATERM ROOF PASTE can be applied easily with a roller for structural plasters, or by spraying with structural plastering machines. When applied properly the finished layer will be 0.8-1.2 mm (0.03-0.05 inches) thick and will be achieved in a single application without the need for additional touch-ups. Ease of use translates directly to time and cost savings which are crucial in the construction process. This thickness is essential to achieve maximum thermal reflective and thermal-insulating properties and to ensure the product’s full functionality and efficiency. The high adhesion ensures a very good connection to all roof surfaces including bituminous surfaces when using BITUM PRIMER by KOFARB.

Thanks to its properties it can be used on roofs of residential buildings, hospitals, hotels, office buildings, public institutions, production halls, garages, animal husbandry, etc. KOFATERM ROOF PASTE is a unique material that allows for the thermal modernization of historical monuments under conservation protection. It can be colored, but in this case, inorganic pigments for emulsion paints should be used. The paint is resistant to UV radiation.
